Cucurella assures Brighton fans: I know I can do more

Marc Cucurella has told Brighton fans there's more to come from him.

Cucurella has shared in two wins since arriving from Getafe on deadline day but says the best is yet to come after several weeks without playing.

He went the distance in the 2-1 win over Leicester – his first 90 minutes since the Olympic final on August 7.

Cucurella told The Argus: “For the moment, I'm finishing matches absolutely exhausted.

“I went a long time without playing 90 minutes.

“But I think ending the game so tired shows you have left everything out on the pitch.

“I tried to give everything for my team-mates and, after a win, the tiredness goes more quickly."

Cucurella caught the eye on his debut at Brentford, then stepped up a level versus the Foxes.

He said: “I'm still settling in. The first game is always difficult.

“It was a hard game and the tempo was high.

“I was getting used to the league, my team-mates.

“There were a couple of times when I lost the ball and I need to do better in those situations.

“But it was good to get the win.

“I hadn't played much for quite a long time but I will get better and better.

“I'm not at 100% but two wins so far – it's a good start."
