CSKA taking West Ham to FIFA for outstanding Vlasic payment

CSKA Moscow are taking West Ham United to FIFA for an outstanding payment due for Nikola Vlasic's fee.

The midfielder left CSKA last year for West Ham and has since joined Torino on-loan.

CSKA say they're owed €9m by West Ham, which are insisting they cannot pay due to financial sanctions made against Russia. CSKA, however, say they have offered several options for the payment to be made, though West Ham have rejected all.

CSKA comms chief Kirill Breido told TASS: "West Ham are still not fulfilling their obligations and still owe us a serious amount for the transfer of Nikola Vlasic. We proposed a significant number of options for solving the problem and tried to take into account the interests of all parties, but our British colleagues took an overly formal position.

"At the moment, we have exhausted all the possibilities for a pre-trial settlement and will be forced to send an application to FIFA, initiating consideration of the case on West Ham's failure to fulfill its obligations."
