Crystal Palace are hoping they can offload Dwight Gayle in order to sign Charlie Austin.
The Eagles are desperate to sign Austin from QPR but will need funds from the Glenn Murray to Bournemouth move and the potential sale of Gayle.
24-year-old Gayle has a price of £10million on his head but so far Aston Villa and the Cherries have evaded that valuation.
Palace boss Alan Pardew is eager to bring in Austin before this evening's deadline but the South London club will need £15m, which is the R's asking price, to land the 26-year-old who scored 18 times in the Premier League last term.
