Crystal Palace striker Wickham: A professional win

Crystal Palace striker Connor Wickham was delighted to score in their shock FA Cup win over Tottenham.

Wickham netted within 10 minutes against Tottenham Hotspur today as the Eagles ran-out 2-0 victors in the fourth round of the Emirates FA Cup.

He said, "It was a massive relief, we got ourselves in the lead which was good and we were saying at half time that it could have been 4-0 if we took our chances and were clinical in the end, but I think the performance was as professional as it could have been from start to finish.

"I think we've definitely got the squad to do it [go on a Cup run], we showed that today, we made a few changes but whoever the gaffer decides to put on the field can definitely put in a performance."

And squad depth in particular has been increased in Wickham's area of the field, with both he and fellow front-man Christian Benteke returning from injury over recent weeks.

"It's good," Wickham said, "it's not just Wilf and Andros, we can all share the load. We've got Jordan, Christian's just come back and myself, we look strong all the way from the back to the front."
