Crystal Palace striker Benteke eyes improvement next season

Crystal Palace attacker Christian Benteke is looking to improve upon his productive debut season at Selhurst Park.

Benteke joined Crystal Palace from Liverpool for a club record fee last summer and the striker had enjoyed a decent campaign, scoring 15 Premier League goals despite the Eagles' struggles throughout the season.

Having played a key role in helping Palace avoid relegation, Benteke is already looking forward to next season and has stated that the club needs to strengthen their ranks with new signings during the upcoming summer transfer window in order to bring about improved performances.

The Belgian international told the Croydon Advertiser: "When I arrived the goal was the play for the top half of the table. In the end we have ended up fighting against relegation.

"In terms of myself, I can be satisfied. I scored some important goals for the team and I am looking forward to next season. The plan now is to move on. Obviously the manager and the chairman know we need some new faces in the team. Hopefully we are going to be better next season."
