Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze is closing in on a sensational return from an Achilles injury.

The England Under-21 star was predicted to be absent until 2022 with the injury, which he picked up in training near the end of last season.

However, the 23-year-old could play as early as next week against Newcastle United, per The Sun.

Eze has reportedly made significant progress, as he is already doing ball work.

Palace manager Patrick Vieira will be delighted to bring Eze into the team, as his energy and creativity may be exactly what the team needs to step up a level in the Premier League.
