Crystal Palace's Jedinak lands top FFA award

Mile Jedinak has been named the 2014 Football Federation Australia (FFA) Footballer of the Year.

The Australia national team and Crystal Palace captain has landed the prize for the second straight season after being named the FFA player of the year in 2013 for his outstanding performances for both club and country.

Jedinak, who skippered the Socceroos at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, was also named the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) International Player of the Year for his fine individual 2014 calendar year.

Joining 30-year old Jedinak on the winners' dais was Brisbane Roar and Matildas star Katrina Gorry who was named the FFA Women's Footballer of the Year.

Other award winners on the night included Adelaide United's Awer Mabil and Perth Glory's Samantha Kerr who picked up the U20 Male and Female awards respectively.
