Crystal Palace rival Wolves for Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham

Crystal Palace have made a move for Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham.

The Mirror says the Eagles, currently six points above the drop zone after scoring just 19 goals in their 21 league games this season, are desperate for some firepower up front — and Abraham is hot property after netting 16 times in 20 appearances on loan at Championship promotion chasers Aston Villa.

Palace ditched their pursuit of Liverpool frontman Dominic Solanke after being priced out by Bournemouth last week. But they are still in the market for loans and are now hopeful Abraham could be interested in returning to London.

Villa boss Dean Smith was expecting Abraham in to train on Monday, but he didn't turn up as he contemplated a controversial defection to their top-flight neighbours Wolves.

But with Chelsea insisting on only another loan rather than a permanent £18million sale, Villa are confident that 21-year-old Abraham could be staying with them.
