The race for released Chelsea captain Gary Cahill is heating up.
The Daily Mail says Crystal Palace are hoping to convince Cahill to join them ahead of Burnley and West Ham.
Manager Roy Hodgson wants the former Chelsea captain to bring his experience and leadership qualities to Palace's defence as he pushes to get players in before next Thursday's deadline.
Burnley's interest in the 33-year-old back in May and they have maintained contact amid concerns they will lose James Tarkowski and Ben Gibson.
However, the chance to link up with former England boss Hodgson and remain in London appeals to Cahill.
