Crystal Palace optimistic about Zaha appeal

Crystal Palace are optimistic Wilfried Zaha's ban will be overturned on appeal.

The Ivorian received a two game ban after being sent off against Southampton.

But Palace are confident their appeal will be upheld.

"The reason we have appealed is a very simple reason," manager Roy Hodgson said.

"We thought that we had a very good case that he would not be subject to a further ban and we were a bit disappointed when it was decided that he is subject to a further ban, one match.

"But we thought we were entitled to appeal that, because we thought we had a very good case. I now trust in the appeal committee and the FA to listen to our appeal and make the decision they want to make."
