Crystal Palace offer Hodgson new contract

Crystal Palace interim coach Roy Hodgson is close to signing a new deal to remain in charge next season.

The veteran, who is 75, came in near the end of this campaign to replace Patrick Vieira.

When he took over, the London club appeared in free fall towards the drop zone, but their results and form picked up almost immediately after his hiring.

Per The Sun, club chairman Steve Parish is ready to reward Hodgson with a one-year deal.

Palace believe that he would add stability and help them revamp the squad with a view to pushing up the table next season.

Hodgson has previously stated that he would not mind having one more season in charge.
