Crystal Palace midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate has called for greater focus ahead of tomorrow's clash with Newcastle United.

Palace go into the match on the back of defeat to Tottenham.

He said: "I'm disappointed about losing because it was possible to take some points today but we lost this game. We had good organisation in the first half and the beginning of the second half. But after the Tottenham goal the game became very difficult. We lost this game and that's very, very difficult for the team. We need to forget this game and focus on Saturday's game.

"We had good organisation. [But for the first goal] we lost the ball and lost the organisation and the goal came. This is football sometimes. We need to continue to work hard and prepare for the next game.

"We came here to come win so points but we lost. We need to forget this game."
