Crystal Palace goalscorer Jeffrey Schlupp: Doncaster made it tough

Crystal Palace goalscorer Jeffrey Schlupp says their FA Cup win at Doncaster Rovers was tougher than it looked.

Despite the scoreline and the Eagles' dominance during the match, the Ghanaian midfielder remarked that progression had not been easy and that his side are now pleased with having made their way through yet another cup challenge.

He reflected: "We knew it was going to be a tough one and anyone who watched today saw that they [Doncaster] played good football but we're obviously pleased to have come here and won the game. We scored two good goals and are through to the next round."

And with victory taking Palace one step closer to Wembley, Schlupp allowed himself a positive glance forward after the clash's conclusion, suggesting that with a good draw his side can look to the iconic archway of north-west London.

"We obviously knew if we got past this round, we'd be in a good position," he said. "Of course this is a special tournament and hopefully with the luck of the draw we might get a 'lesser' team, if that's what you want to call it, to have a better chance of getting through. But obviously any trip to Wembley is special and hopefully we can do that."
