Crystal Palace are on the verge of welcoming back two players who will be virtually be brand new signings.

Eagles skipper Shaun Derry is confident the returns of striker Stern John and defender Claude Davis will have a great impact on the playing group, even if they are almost new signings.

"It is like that for both of them because we haven't really seen them this season," said Derry.

"Stern John and Claude Davis are big players for us and it certainly adds a freshness and more strength to our squad.

"We're delighted they are getting back to full fitness and hopefully they can make a big impact when they get their chance."
