Crystal Palace fullback Ward delighted with goal for Fulham draw

Crystal Palace fullback Joel Ward was delighted to score in their 2-2 draw with Fulham.

Ward found the equaliser to earn the point.

"It's something I do every day, really – in the garden against my three-year-old," he told Palace TV. “It is nice to get on the scoresheet and earn a point for the team.

“We deserved something from the game. It is nice to come to the last away game, get a point and keep the momentum going and keep the results coming in.

“There were spells throughout the game where we dominated, and spells where we had our backs up against the ropes. It shows the resilience and determination of this team to stay in the game."

He continued: “We know we can create something – we can have a chance. Thankfully today we did that, it dropped and that was it.

“I do [remember my last goal] – I don't score many so I tend to remember the goals! It is nice to get on the scoresheet. I'm delighted, and it's nice to get a point for the team.

“I've enjoyed [this season], it's been great. I want to keep that going, keep those games coming in, keep them coming thick and fast.

“This season has been different in many ways but I'm relishing it, enjoying my football and enjoying the moment and taking it all in."
