Crystal Palace have failed with an attempt for Santos midfielder Lucas Lima.

The Sun says Santos midfielder Lima was offered a chance to link up with the Eagles, but turned down the opportunity of a switch to south London according to reports in Italy.

Crystal Palace had reportedly agreed a £12.5million fee for the Brazilian international playmaker, who has 11 caps for the Samba Boys.

The 26-year-old was offered a four-year deal worth £8.4m, according to TMW, but he snubbed the opportunity of a move to the Premier League to stay in his homeland.
