Crystal Palace centre-back Scott Dann has expressed his disappointment with the FA Cup final defeat but concedes that Manchester United were the deserved winners on the day.

The 29-year-old has urged his club to pick themselves up and move on to the next season having failed at the final hurdle against a deserving Red Devils side at Wembley on Saturday..

"We're disappointed with the result, gutted," Dann said in the wake of the 2-1 extra-time defeat.

"It's a great occasion to be involved in, but when you're on the losing side it doesn't make for a great day.

"In the first half we probably didn't play as well as we liked, but we got ourselves in front so to lose from there is disappointing, but Manchester United deserved to lift the trophy.

"We'll be looking to move forward, it's the only way we can go. We can't feel sorry for ourselves, we've done really well to get into this position, we took it to extra-time but it wasn't to be.

"We have to take the positives and move on to next season."
