Crystal Palace defender Tomkins hails Zaha, Guaita and... Lewington for Leicester draw

Crystal Palace defender James Tomkins has confirmed assistant manager Ray Lewington steamed into them at halftime for Monday's 1-1 draw with Leicester City.

Wilfried Zaha's second-half goal was eventually canceled out by Leicester winger Barnes.

Afterwards, Tomkins admitted: "First half we weren't at it, we were a bit nervous on the back of some heavy defeats, we were down about that and it showed. At half-time Ray Lewington gave us a talking to and we proved we are a better team than we showed. It's a great response in that second half.

"They are very sharp players, when Jamie Vardy came on and I was playing my first game in 10 months it livened it up. It was a special moment from them for the goal, that's what good players do."

Vicente Guaita denied Kelechi Iheanacho from the Palace penalty spot and Tomkins added: "Guaita is a good keeper, he's been brilliant ever since he came here and he saved me today. Hopefully I can repay him one day.

"Wilfried Zaha does that time and time again, he's an impressive player. It's a joy to play with him and hopefully he can keep doing that for us."
