Crystal Palace defender Sakho on false drugs ban: Hard to see family suffer

Crystal Palace defender Mamadou Sakho admits his false drugs finding hit his family the worst.

The defender has just been recalled to the France squad after a two-year absence caused by a false drugs test which saw him miss the 2016 Euros.

Sakho told Foot Mercato: "The hardest thing for me was seeing my loved ones suffer. I am a person who turns the page very quickly. The experience of life showed me that it was necessary to be able to make observations, find a solution and move forward.

"I do not have time to feel sorry for myself and whine. But it's true that to see my mother suffer from this, to see my brothers and sisters, my wife, my friends suffer, it was hard for me.

"I was there to tell them that it was going be okay, that the soldier would continue to work and that it was going to be well."
