Crystal Palace defender Guehi: We enjoyed our end of season form

Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi is delighted with the way they closed out the season.

Palace saw former manager Patrick Vieira sacked and replaced by Roy Hodgson, who led the club to an 11th place finish.

Guehi told Palace TV: “It's been a tough one. We started the campaign well, and then like life itself, things get rocky, things get difficult.

“I'm just glad that everyone at the club stuck together. We had the fans behind us the whole time, so I'm proud of this team and proud of everyone to finish the way we did.

“It's lovely when you're playing with players like Joa [Andersen], Michael [Olise] and Ebs [Eze], all these lads with the confidence that they've been given and they found. It's been unbelievable and definitely enjoyable for the fans I'm sure."

Guehi is in the latest England squad, along with Sam Johnstone and Ebe Eze.

He added: “I'm just grateful again to be called up. I'm more happy for Ebs and Sam. They've been working so hard.

“Sam's had to wait for his chance but I'm so glad that he's been amazing. I'm really happy for Ebs because I know how hard it's been for him with the injury and having to come back, but he's shown the player he really is. I'm just glad for him."
