Crystal Palace confident signing West Brom fullback Nathan Ferguson

Crystal Palace are confident of eventually signing West Brom fullback Nathan Ferguson.

Palace were on the verge of signing Ferguson in the January transfer window.

In desperate need of full-back cover, the club sought an agreement with West Brom and Ferguson, agreeing to an £8 million fee which could rise to £11 million.

However, during the medical, Palace discovered a knee injury that they believed would require surgery and keep Ferguson on the sidelines for the foreseeable future.

They tried to renegotiate a lower fee as a result, but a frantic final 36 hours of the window ended in disappointment, reports The Athletic.

Palace have remained interested in Ferguson and are now heavy favourites to sign the 19-year-old at the end of the season upon the expiration of his current contract.
