Crystal Palace close to appointing ex-Wolves manager Nuno

Former Wolves boss Nuno is on the brink of being appointed Crystal Palace manager.

Palace have conducted a thorough search for the successor to Roy Hodgson, with the veteran manager bidding farewell to his boyhood club at the end of the 2020-21 campaign.

The Telegraph says Nuno is Palace's preferred target and the club and Portuguese, 47, are in advanced talks over an agreement, while an announcement could be made later this week.

The former Valencia and Porto boss' arrival would be a real coup for the south Londoners, having done a magnificent job in the West Midlands with Wolves.

Nuno took over in the summer of 2017, with the club languishing in the Championship after a 15th-place finish.

Nuno also reportedly held talks with Everton over their vacancy following Carlo Ancelotti's exit, but Palace appear to be moving quickly to nab the Portuguese ahead of their rivals.
