Crystal Palace chairman Parish welcomes Reddington, McArthur developments

Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish is delighted James McArthur has penned new terms.

Parish, in today's match programme notes, also expressed his pleasure with Dave Reddington's addition to manager Roy Hodgson's staff.

"We recently announced a new role for Dave Reddington as first-team coach, and a new contract for James McArthur. The opportunity for Dave arose because Steven Reid decided to take a break from football, but he made a huge contribution to the club last season and we wish him well. As for Dave, he joined our academy 14 years ago, with a spell at Watford in the middle of that period.

"This opportunity to work under Roy and Ray is richly deserved and another great example of the development and pathways that exists for coaches and players at the club. Dave is a hugely enthusiastic guy, and I wish him all the very best in the role.

"James is the epitome of a model professional and a team player, setting a brilliant example to others. He rarely grabs the headlines, but is someone who teammates and fans hold in the highest regard and so we're delighted that James has extended his time in south London with us."
