Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson says there's no comparison with Pep Guardiola due to Manchester City's massive transfer budget.

Palace host Manchester City on Sunday afternoon and Hodgson knows Guardiola will be expected to leave London with three points.

Hodgson said: "The fact is the only way you'll ever really be able to pit wits between one coach and another is if they both have exactly the same team and exactly the same players and one manages to get his team on the field playing a formation that the other one can't match.

"Then you can say 'oh, you've pitted your wits against him and you lost'."
