Crystal Palace boss Hodgson tells Sako to wait...

Crystal Palace are happy to wait on new contract talks with Bakary Sako.

Roy Hodgson, for now, has put any plans for Sako beyond June to the back of the queue in terms of priority.

"I think that's a matter for future discussion of course. It will depend not just upon myself," he told the Croydon Advertiser.

"Dougie Freedman will have a say on Bakary Sako as well and offer his thoughts on the subject.

"I'm afraid I can't shed any light on that at the moment. And you'll have to forgive me, there are many more fish to fry as far as Crystal Palace is concerned at the moment.

"Mainly can we get a competitive team on the field of play, can we win enough points to keep in the league?

"I'm afraid thing like a new contract for a player who is out of contract and injured will have to be put, for me at least, on the back boiler for a week or two."
