Crystal Palace boss Hodgson reveals Zaha injury update

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has revealed that Wilfried Zaha is struggling with a calf injury.

The Ivory Coast winger was only on the field for 13 minutes before he came off.

And it is revealed that he suffered the issue in the warm-up, but wanted to play on.

Palace struggled at Anfield, losing 4-0 to the team that is now only two points away from clinching their first title in 30 years.

"It's a calf muscle strain," Hodgson told reporters after the game.

"There were some discussions as to whether he should attempt to play but he was adamant it was something he could try to get away with. It became obvious he couldn't and we don't want him to be out for a long period.

"We don't have the squad numbers, the bodies when our players go down. We have four forwards competing for three places."
