Crystal Palace boss Hodgson: No positives from Brighton loss

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson was in a despondent mood after his side's defeat to Brighton in midweek.

The veteran coach was unhappy at a penalty decision that helped give Brighton the win.

But he does not believe that his side did enough in a 3-1 loss to a team that would be in and around them by the end of the season.

"There is no point allowing that [the penalty] to disturb the way you want to play irrespective of whether you think it was correctly given or not," he said to the Evening Standard after the game.

"Who knows, he did [give it] and we had to adjust to it and we didn't. Second and third goals are disappointing and frustrating, they are the buzzwords I keep hearing.

"It seems to be fairly obvious when you come here to win a game and lose 3-1, there are no good things I feel.

"The second goal was something we have to take total responsibility for and the third one too, that wasn't even an attack it was just a clearance.

"There is nothing positive I can say at all."
