Crystal Palace boss Hodgson happy going to Everton 'under less pressure'

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson is happy for his squad to be safe from the drop.

Palace have lost once in their last five games and Hodgson says his side can play with "less pressure" at Everton on Monday.

"I think we can play with a little less pressure [for the rest of the season]," said Hodgson.

"The last two or three games have been highly pressurised.

"They [Everton] are a good team with a lot of good players and have recruited well. It all boils down to how well we can perform.

"We played very well against them earlier this season but lost to a controversial penalty."

With players returning to the club after the international break, Hodgson says they "all seem to be OK".

"There's only one we haven't yet seen but we believe he's fine, that's Cheikhou Kouyate," said Hodgson.

"He had a longer journey than the others.

"With regards to the squad from the West Brom game, I think the only player we're likely to get back is Tyrick Mitchell, although we're still assessing James McCarthy and Nathaniel Clyne.

"You're always happy when players that go away score goals. [Eberechi] Eze's was very important but disappointing that it didn't lead to the win.

"Michy [Batshuayi] and Christian [Benteke] waited patiently for a chance and it was nice to see them get the chance and get their goals."
