Crystal Palace boss Hodgson backing England call for Wan-Bissaka

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson admits he can see Aaron Wan-Bissaka playing his way into the England team.

Wan-Bissaka has been selected for England U21s for their two crucial fixtures next week, but if he continues performing for Palace, Hodgson believes he won't be far from Gareth Southgate's mind, even though England have an abudnance of talent at right-back.

The former England boss said: “He faces very stiff competition in Walker and Trippier, who have had great success down that right hand side. Then there's Trent Alexander-Arnold who has done a fantastic job at Liverpool. For him to break in, he has to knock a few people over along the way before he's maybe considered.

“But we believe in him, we think he's very good. And England obviously do too because they're choosing him to be in their U21 team."
