Crystal Palace boss Hodgson admits Schlupp injury blow

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson has confirmed a hamstring injury for Jeffrey Schlupp.

chlupp pulled up in the first half of their 2-0 win against Sheffield United, in which he scored the opener, and was forced off after a period of treatment.

Hodgson said: "Jeff Schlupp is more concerning as it is definitely a muscle injury. He felt a hamstring pull.

"It looks like we're going to miss him for a while and that's unfortunate because he's been doing very, very well for us."

Schlupp was replaced after 40 minutes by Ebere Eze, who scored a sensational second goal to seal Palace's win as the Eagles moved up to 14th in the Premier League.

They also lost Christian Benteke to injury early in the second half but Hodgson said: "Benteke got a kick in the first half – we think it's a dead leg which usually doesn't develop into anything long term."
