Crystal Palace boss eager for Delaney to remain

Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock wants Damien Delaney to sign a new contract with the club.

The 33-year old Irish centre-back is out of contract next summer and his form so far this season suggests to Warnock that he has plenty to more to offer the south London club.

"Damien has been really good and he is so good to have around," he told the South London Press.

"I'm talking to him at the moment about his contract - it is not something that has not been mentioned.

"At the moment he is just getting on with playing and if he can sort something out then he will do."

Former Hull City ace Delaney, who has started five times in the Premier League this term, arrived at Selhurst Park from Ipswich Town in August 2012 and has since made 91 appearances for the Eagles.
