Crystal Palace academy chief Issott: England will come for Wan-Bissaka

Crystal Palace academy chief Gary Issott says Aaron Wan-Bissaka shouldn't be concerned about being ignored by England.

The 21-year-old was hotly tipped to feature in England's recent Euro 2020 qualifiers but he ultimately missed out, with Southgate preferring his tried and trusted trio of Kyle Walker, Kieran Trippier and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

But Issott told the Daily Star: "It's difficult at the moment, isn't it?

“Because they've got the three established players in there.

“I wasn't absolutely surprised because it wasn't a given but I think Aaron probably just needs a break where one or two of those players gets injured and then it's down to him once he gets his chance.

“But those other players have done so well for England. I've not seen huge amounts of Alexander-Arnold but he has played in a European Cup final so he's had a fantastic start to his career as well.

“But it's like all things in football - you wait for your chance and then when you get it, if he gets it, you've then got to try and claim it and perform so well that the manager can't drop him."
