Cruyff on Ajax pair De Ligt, De Jong: Guardiola or Barcelona?

Former Manchester United and Barcelona striker Jordi Cruyff says Pep Guardiola would be the ideal manager for Ajax pair Frenkie de Jong and Matthijs de Ligt.

Manchester City have been linked with the Dutch duo, along with Barcelona.

Cruyff, now in charge Chongqing Dangdai Lifan, wrote for De Telegraaf: "Money is no longer important when clubs like Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City show interest.

"For whomever you choose, that is always good. The crux is how you ultimately come to the right decision. Take Manchester City. Josep Guardiola is the perfect trainer for both De Jong and De Ligt.

"But what happens when he leaves? Will the DNA of Manchester City then remain the same?

"The same applies to PSG. What happens if the current owner gets tired of it? How great is it then? In that respect, Barcelona offers more security. Whoever is a trainer and what management there is, the technical policy always remains the same. As a player you are never dependent on who is in charge."
