Barcelona sporting director Jordi Cruyff says Lionel Messi won't return as a player.

The PSG attacker is off contract in June and been linked with a return to the Nou Camp.

But Cruyff has shutdown the rumours, stating: "What I am clear about and the president is also that there has to be an approach with a legend like him.

"Barça and Messi have to get together again. It may be after his career. But it is clear that that final hug is missing between a club and a huge player.

"They both deserve it."
