Barcelona legend Johan Cruyff has jumped to the defence of Alexis Sanchez.

The Chile international has been linked with a move away, with Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal among clubs mentioned.

Cruyff declared: "Alexis Sanchez is widely criticized. They say he is not up to it at Barca. But if you saw him play against Mallorca, you saw a quality player who gives the team something that others do not have.

"Two assists and two goals in the victory was decisive.

"Of course, Sanchez is not Messi, but Barca should be happy to have a player of this quality in the squad."
