Crocked Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe is desperate to get over his latest injury so he can play with new teammate Rafael van der Vaart.
Defoe admitted the arrival of the Dutch playmaker has given him an extra incentive to return to action soon.
He told the Mirror: "I've already spoken to Van der Vaart's Dad and he was telling me that Rafael was looking forward to playing with me which is always nice to hear.
"He has done well in football, he has played in the World Cup Final for Holland and you have to be something special to play for Real Madrid."
