Crocked Hull winger Snodgrass continuing rehab

Hull City have denied reports claiming that Robert Snodgrass has faced a further setback on his recovery from a long-term knee injury.

Snodgrass suffered a serious knee injury during the first game of last season against QPR, sidelining the winger for the rest of the campaign.

Given the seriousness of the injury, it is unclear as to when Snodgrass will make a successful return to the pitch and it was recently claimed that the former Leeds United man could be out for even longer after facing another setback.

However, Hull have moved on to quash such reports and have released a statement indicating that his rehabilitation process is going according to plan.

"Contrary to reports in the local media, Robert Snodgrass has not suffered a setback and continues his rehabilitation following a serious knee injury sustained in the opening game of last season," read the club's official website.

"Surgery to reconstruct knee ligaments and damage to the patella was expected to see the player require between 9 and 12 months rehabilitation. Both the surgeon and the Tigers' medical staff are happy with progress so far and Robert has been given the green light to step up his rehab over the summer.

"Robert is now running under the guidance of the Club's medical staff and continues his rehabilitation whilst the rest of the squad have a break over the summer.

"It is expected that Robert will start his pitch-based rehab when the squad meet up at the start of July for pre-season training, and whilst no set date has been put on his return to first team action it is hoped he will play a large part as the Tigers aim to bounce back to the Premier League at the first attempt."
