Croatia coach Dalic worried about Real Madrid midfielder Modric legal trouble

Croatia coach Zlatko Dalic is worried about Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric's legal trouble in his homeland.

Modric has been accused of perjury by the Croatian public prosecutor's office in relation to his testimony in the trial of former Dinamo Zagreb director Zdravko Mamic.

"I can't intervene in what is happening, but yes, it's worrying me," said Dalic.

"Knowing Luka as I do, I'm sure that he'll take responsiblity for this and will be available when he is needed."

Modric is accused of altering his testimony in relation to earlier statements he gave during the investigation.

AS reports the trial of Mamic relates to the alleged embezzlement of up to €15 million from the sale of Dinamo players to foreign clubs, in addition to tax fraud totalling €1.5m. One of the implicated transfers is Modric's move from Dinamo for Tottenham in 2008, for a fee of around €23m.
