Spanish pundit Eduardo Aguirre believes tension still exists between Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid management.

Ronaldo and his agent Jorge Mendes have continued to push for a pay-rise in recent months - a request which has been rejected by president Florentino Perez.

Speaking with El Chiringuito, Aguirre is adamant Ronaldo wants to leave Real.

"Today, Cristiano still wants to leave Real Madrid. He is closer than ever to a departure," he declared.

Ronaldo feels he deserves a pay-rise after winning back-to-back Ballon d'Or awards.

However, just last week, he did say: "I'm happy at Real Madrid. I want to stay here if it's possible. I would like to finish my career at Real Madrid."
