Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis says the FA should consider Dario Gradi as they investigate England's U21 Euros flop.

Stuart Pearce's side lost all three of their group games, against Italy, Norway and hosts Israel to complete an embarrassing tournament for the FA.

Davis said: "When you look at developing young players, I haven't met anybody with the experience, knowledge and foresight that Dario has.

"He would have been excellent at the FA and even now when he is becoming more involved in our academy, there is no reason why the FA shouldn't involve him as they try to recruit young players and develop them."
