Crawley owner Eren ready to take Kewell gamble

Former Leeds United and Liverpool winger Harry Kewell is on the brink of being named new manager of Crawley Town.

Kewell will take the job after leaving Watford as U23 coach.

The Sun says Reds owner Ziya Eren is willing to take a gamble on another inexperienced manager having appointed former Arsenal and Chelsea academy coach Drummy 13 months ago to replace Mark Yates.

Drummy made a decent start to life at the Checkatrade Stadium but Crawley won just once in their last 14 games to finish 19th in the table.

Aussie Kewell jumped at the chance to prove his credentials in the Football League.
