Coventry happy with deal for Bolton striker Ward

Coventry City are closing a deal for Bolton Wanderers striker Danny Ward.

Coventry boss Aidy Boothroyd will pay LESS for loan signing Ward - on loan from Bolton - every time he plays.

Talented wide man Ward is joining the Sky Blues in a unique deal where his fee reduces when he appears for them and goes down to a small figure.

Wanderers chief Owen Coyle wants Ward to gain experience at Coventry and struck the arrangement that should encourage the Championship side to use him.

Coyle explained: "The more Danny plays the more the fee is reduced. We are not putting him out to gain financially - we want him to come back a better player.

"Every time he plays the sum comes down by a substantial amount. I think it is very fair - and so does Aidy."
