Aston Villa star Philippe Coutinho is seeking permission to return to Brazil in the January transfer window.

Per Goal.com, Coutinho is a target for Brazilian giants Corinthians this winter.

The player's agent Kia Joorabchian is brokering talks between Coutinho, Villa, and the Brazilian team.

The attacking midfielder has barely featured since Unai Emery took charge of the team from Steven Gerrard.

His form since permanently signing for Villa in the summer has been extremely poor.

Coutinho did impress during his loan spell from Barcelona during the second half of last season.
