Coutinho favours Chelsea over Man Utd after Barcelona split agreed

Barcelona and Philippe Coutinho have agreed to split at the end of the season.

The midfielder has failed to adjust to Barca coach Ernesto Valverde's system and there's an acceptance he must move on.

Sport says Coutinho's management team are already tasked with finding him a new club - with two requirements. The midfielder wants to be assured he will be played in his preferred position and also the club in question will need the spending power to meet Barca's valuation.

Barca's starting price will be €130m.

Early contenders in contact are PSG, Manchester United and Chelsea. The Blues will need their transfer ban to be lifted to compete, while United is a destination not favoured by the former Liverpool star.

Indeed, it's suggested Chelsea would be the priority for Coutinho.
