Courbis: Henry not ready for top Bordeaux job

Former Olympique Marseille coach Rolland Courbis has questioned Bordeaux's move for Thierry Henry.

The Arsenal legend is favourite for the manager's job at Bordeaux after the dismissal of Gus Poyet last week.

But Courbis told RMC: "Thierry Henry is the guy with a big name who arouses great respect for what he has done, including in the United States for that matter - and it is not a coincidence that the Americans are interested in him.

"As for his coaching experience, it is currently very small. He's a beginner. I would rather see him with an experienced coach. Of a Laurent Blanc for example. Yes, Laurent Blanc started in Bordeaux but compare what is comparable. If Thierry Henry takes Jean-Louis Gasset as an assistant, I no longer speak of Thierry Henry as a beginner because we do not know who is the number 1, the number 2, the beginner..."
