Fiorentina sports director Pantaleo Corvino says they can be satisfied with their summer market campaign.
The Viola were relatively quiet this summer, bringing in Gaetano D'Agostino, Artur Boruc and Alessio Cerci, but refusing to sell stars Alberto Gilardino and Adrian Mutu.
"We made economic sacrifices while maintaining our squad. I could've revolutionised the side, but we preferred to keep hold of the likes of Sebastien Frey, Juan Manuel Vargas, Stevan Jovetic, Mutu, Riccardo Montolivo and Gilardino," said Corvino.
"Fiorentina confirmed a group that has great technical quality. We signed Boruc as a very valid alternative to Frey, who in any case has an 8m buy-out clause so we are covered in case he decides to go.
"Cerci is further reinforcement down the flank and D'Agostino gives us a lot of quality.
"Of course we're not perfect, but neither are the sides who bought Zlatan Ibrahimovic or Marco Borriello."
