Steve Coppell will return to management this week after an 11-month absence, taking over at Championship club Bristol City, reports the Daily Mail. Former Crystal Palace and Reading boss Coppell will be assisted at Ashton Gate by Keith Millen, who has been in caretaker charge since the departure of Gary Johnson last month.
Coppell feels ready for a new challenge after quitting Reading in May following their play-off semi-final defeat by Burnley.
He recently turned down the chance to manage Palace again because the club were in administration, but feels Bristol City have the resources and ambition to get back into the top flight after a 35-year absence.
