Cooper future with Nottingham Forest in doubt as contract talks stall

Highly rated manager Steve Cooper's status at Nottingham Forest is being assessed by several teams around Europe.

The young coach helped Forest get to the Premier League via the playoffs last term, despite taking over when the team were 19th after a few matches had already been played.

Forest have signed 22 new players this summer, spending £145 million, but are still odds on for relegation.

According to the Daily Mail, Cooper has not signed a new deal with the Nottingham club, which has alerted other teams.

Even if he does go back down with Forest, he is likely to have plenty of offers from other clubs to jump back into a top flight team.
