Yeung refusing to give up Birmingham takeover

Carson Yeung is NOT giving up his takeover bid of Birmingham City.

The Mirror says Yeung is set to stump up £35million out of his own pocket to ensure he buys Birmingham and meets City's Christmas takeover deadline.

Hong Kong tycoon Yeung, 47, bought an initial 29.9 per cent of the club in July for £15m through his company Grandtop International with a promise to buy the rest of Birmingham.

But fed-up City chairman David Gold says the deal seems doomed because Grandtop would have had to submit their latest offer by now for shareholders to approve the deal in time.

Yeung though, plans to fund it personally to by-pass red tape and make the December 21 deadline.
