Yeung blanks Birmingham

Carson Yeung hasn't had contact with Birmingham City for the past week, it has been revealed.

The Sun says the Hong Kong businessman is meant to be buying the Premier League club for £50million.

But no one from Brum has heard from Yeung for more than a week despite the fact manager Steve Bruce has left to join Wigan.

That has sparked fears Yeung is set to call off the deal - after having an appeal rejected to extend the December 20 completion deadline as he tries to raise the extra £35m he needs.

The Chinese billionaire recently blocked the board from offering Bruce a new deal, suggesting he was taking a close interest in club affairs.

And Yeung's advisers insist he is still fully committed to the purchase of the Midlands outfit.
